Job Description

We are a leading and reputable nongovernmental organization providing technical assistance in support of implementation of comprehensive family-focused HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment in partnership with the NGOs and different tiers of the Government of Nigeria- national, state, local and site levels. In line with the broadened scope and objectives of our work, the need for increased staff capacity around new and enlarged areas of focus have emerged. We therefore require the services of resourceful, experienced and dynamic professionals for the position below:

Job Title: Sub-contract Accountant
Location: Abuja

  • The   Sub-Contract   Accountant   coordinates   the and conduct of pre-award assessment of potential sub at the central office level in collaboration with the Head  Finance, HR & Admin.
  • H/she will provide support training of sub recipients on all applicable USG laws and regulations, funding agencies rules and regulations, terms and conditions of the subcontract.
  • Ensure consistent application of organizational financial and administrative policies/standards, as well as USG rules and regulations; .develop systems and tools for sub recipients financial management.
  • Review all sub recipients reports and advance requests.
  • Facilitate sub recipients payments, and monitor their advances from source.
  • The position will conduct financial monitoring including site visits and review of financial reports and their supporting documents.
  • Review audit reports filed by sub recipients and corrective action taken by sub recipients in response to audit findings.

  • Applicant should have  Bachelor’s   degree   in    Business   Administration, Accounting,  Finance or in related field with processional accounting qualification such as ACA, ICMA.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience, or a Master’s degree with at least three years of relevant work experience.
  • General ledger experience required.
  • Experience with  USG financial rules and regulations desirable.
  • Knowledge of USG/other   donor   rules,    regulations,    and   procedures   concerning subcontracts. Strong attention to details.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong computer spreadsheet and word processing skills.
